The main file in SPRING is the ASCII model file name.net (where “name” is a placeholder for the name of the project). The name.net file contains all the information for a 2D model. This file is usually created or modified interactively with the SPRING user interface. However, it can also be edited with any text editor.
During the Model checking…, the model data is read in and written to binary background files. The subsequent calculation modules read the data they require from these background files and also save their results there. For the graphical visualisation of the input or result data (Plot creation), the data is read from the background files and the corresponding plot is created. The plots can then be displayed again with SPRING, post-processed and output to a plotter or printer.
The SPRING interface is used for modelling, flow calculation and plotting and is opened by double-clicking with the left mouse button on the icon on the desktop.
