The elements are generated automatically by the Mesh Mesh generation
Create elements
Triangles and quadrilaterals (global). Afterwards, by means of Mesh
Unbend, the mesh is relaxed twenty times, for this example, to achieve optimum angles between the element sides.
The elements inside the lake are then deleted via Mesh Element
Delete
Polygon, as the lake is treated as an inner boundary in this model. Finally, the nodes are deleted via Mesh
Nodes
Delete
Without elements and fractures.
Finished FE-mesh
In the image above, the nodes and contours have been hidden for a better overview (View Nodes
and Contours or by pressing the corresponding buttons in the toolbar or Project manager).
The markers on the structures were hidden with Structure Edit
Pick and then deactivating the Show markers checkbox.
The last step in the mesh creation process is to carry out mesh checks (Mesh Checks…) and eliminate any errors before starting with step 3: Data assignment!
The finished model and structure file "schritt2_netz.net" is available for download on our website or has already been loaded (.../Tutorial_bsp_files/Tutorial_2D_bsp_files/schritt2_netz.net). It can be used for further processing.
Before the data assignment is started the mesh generator TRIANGLE will be explained.
