Horizontal-vertical hydraulic conductivity ratio

Horizontal-vertical hydraulic conductivity ratio

Attribute: KFVH [-] (3D models only)

In groundwater modelling, the vertical K-values are often defined using a default ratio between the horizontal and vertical K-values, particularly for 3D models in order to reduce the input effort. In SPRING, if no vertical K-values are specified explicitly then they are taken from the horizontal K-values (KWER) and multiplied by the KFVH factor. This factor is 1/10 by default and is stored in the 3D file as the KFVH attribute. It can be edited there or changed via the menu item Attributes Extras Adjust factor KFVH....

For Example: The KWEV attribute is defined for layer 4 (KWEV = 0.0004). Which, due to the automatic successive assignment of attributes in SPRING, means that layer 5 and below are also automatically assigned the value KWEV = 0.0004. In this case, the factor KFVH will only apply to layers 1 to 3.
