Global soil parameters can be defined in the "bopa.txt" file. The file must be provided in the directory of the model file. If such a file exists, the standard parameters are replaced by it. If no "bopa.txt" file is created, the following default values are used.
Structure of the soil parameter file "bopa.txt" with default values:
Line |
Meaning |
Standardwerte |
1 |
Mean field capacity in [%]: 1st value: sandy soils, 2nd value: clay soils |
10., 15. |
2 |
Effective root depth in [dm]: 1st value: arable land/grassland, built-up areas, 2nd value: forest |
3., 6. |
3 |
Permanent wilting point in [%]: 1st value: sandy soils, 2nd value: clay soils |
3., 4. |
4 |
Correction factor for possible oversaturation via field capacity |
1., 1. |
Example of a soil parameter file "bopa.txt":
The correction factor can be used to take into account oversaturation of the soil via the field capacity, which may only be reduced after 1 to 2 days in heavy soils. For sand, the correction factor should be set at 1, for heavy soils it should be set at a maximum of 1.2 (from: DVWK 238/1996).
No capillary rise rate is applied.
