In contrast to the calculation methods according to Schroeder and Wyrwich or Messer 2008, clicking on the menu item "Compute groundwater recharge" opens a further dialogue which requires the following entries:

Climatic curve

The name of the file with the transient climate data is entered in the input window.

Calculation method

When the "Average values elementwise" button is activated, the mean groundwater recharge (FLAE) is calculated for each element.

If the "Hydrographs averaged over" button is activated, the groundwater recharge average over the interval is calculated for each element (i.e. for x day(s)).

The transient values are stored internally during the calculation process and can be saved in a transient input file via Extras Transient Export input file.......

Soil parameters

If the checkbox is activated, a file with user-specific soil parameters can be specified. Otherwise, the "bopa.txt" file with the preset values will be used for the calculation.
