Heat transport

Heat transport

Call via: SPRING Calculation Heat transport...

Similar to the spread of dissolved substances (mass transport) in a porous medium, heat transport (energy spread) is also influenced by the processes of advection, diffusion and dispersion. However, heat transport is referred to as convection instead of advection and thermal conduction instead of diffusion.

In contrast to pure mass transport, energy storage and energy transport take place both in the pores and in the solid matrix itself. In addition, a heat transport calculation is always a density-dependent calculation because the density of the fluid and the solid matrix depends on the temperature.

The components of mass transport have already been described in detail in the chapter with the same title and are listed here in brief for the energy-specific processes.
