Additional files

Additional files

Each of the two model files can be added to the model check by specifying an additional file or importing it directly in SPRING via File Import Submesh…. These additional files can contain any amount of data, which is treated as if it were in the mesh files. If there is duplicate data (e.g. a node with two withdrawal rates), the last imported value overwrites the previous entry.

The additional files can be used to save disk space and memory for different model versions. All information that does not change (e.g. mesh data, hydraulic conductivity, etc.) can be stored in the model file. For various simulations, for example, the abstraction volumes and the boundary conditions can be stored in auxiliary files.

The additional files have exactly the same structure as the corresponding "main file" (*.net or *.3d).

Note: When opening a model in SPRING, only the model files are loaded, not the additional files! As described above, these must be read in explicitly or specified as part of the model check (using the model checking dialog box found in the menu at Calculation Model checking…).
