Attribute: KNOT [m³/TU] (node-wise)
The KNOT attribute refers to inflows/outflows at individual nodes (e.g. wells). Inflows (injection with regards to wells) are always positive, outflows (abstraction in regards to wells) are always negative. KNOT boundary conditions can change with each time step by assigning transient KNOT data. In a 3D model, care must be taken to ensure that the KNOT attribute is only active in saturated model regions This can be ensured via equal potential heads (attribute GLEI).
Meaning of the values in column 16 of the model file:
Blank = value has the unit m³/node/TU, i.e. the value is assigned to all nodes in the subsequent node list as an explicit in-/outflow rate.
'/' = value has the unit m³/all nodes/TU, i.e. the value is a total value that is evenly distributed among all the nodes in the subsequent node list.
Example:
KNOT in-/outflow
150. 80, 97- 99
-200. / 106, 105,
The following values are assigned to the following nodes: 150 m3 /TU (inflow) at nodes 80, 97, 98 and 99; A value of -200 / 2 = -100 m³/TU (discharge) assigned to nodes 105 and 106.
