Fixed potential heads

Fixed potential heads

Attribute: POTE [meters above reference datum] (node-wise)

Fixed potential heads can be defined at individual nodes. This is usually only useful where the inflow and outflow volumes are not precisely known (e.g. for the mesh boundary or for large surface water bodies which can act as a fixed potential head). Fixed potential head boundary conditions can also be changed transiently (transient POTE data).

For each flow calculation, a fixed potential head must be defined for at least one node, otherwise the system of equations will not have a unique solution (the physical problem is not clearly defined).
