SPRING offers the possibility of simulating flooding processes in pits or reservoirs. The following chapters describe in the form of a tutorial how the flooding processes of a pit are implemented in SPRING.

The corresponding files of the example model and the simulations are available for download on our webpage under Download and Support Documentation Tutorial SPRING. The downloaded zip file contains a directory "HowTo_Grube" (In the “Tutorial_bsp_files” directory), in which the zip files "fl0.zip", "fl1.zip" and "fl2.zip" are located.

The example model consists of three geological layers, which are characterised by two aquifers and a water table. The pit is located in the second aquifer. The model is discretised by nine nodal layers and shown in the following figures.
