The detailed classification of land use can be based on the land use type catalogue map of the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR).

The land use code from the RVR can be converted into the land use attributes NSFN (for groundwater recharge estimation using the Schroeder and Wyrwich method) or NMFN (for groundwater recharge estimation using the Meßer method) required by SPRING (Attributes Compute Groundwater recharge). For this purpose, the RVR code must be provided via the element attribute KVRN.
