Attribute: FLAE [see below] (element-wise) (horizontal and 3D models only).
This data type is used to define inflows and outflows that refer to elements or areas. For example, groundwater recharge or exfiltration rates can be assigned to the elements (positive inflows, negative outflows). FLAE rates can be assigned to vary over time for transient models.
Meaning of modifiers in the 16th column of the model file:
Blank = the value has the unit m³/element/TU (TU = time unit), i.e. all elements in the number list are assigned this value as an explicit inflow/outflow rate.
'*' = the value has the unit m³/m²/TU, i.e. all elements in the number list receive this value as inflow/outflow rate per m² (e.g. infiltration rates, recharge).
'/' = the value has the unit m³/all elements of the list/TU i.e. the value is a total that is distributed to all elements in the list in proportion to their respective element areas.
For example:
FLAE recharge rate
0.50 * 1- 10
-20000. 11- 14
50000.00 / 15- 19
A precipitation of 0.5 m³/m²/TU falls on the areas of elements 1 to 10, with each element receiving that rate per m2 of the element. Elements 11 to 14 are horizontal abstraction wells (Note the negative rate), where each element produces 20,000 m³/TU. Elements 15 to 19 are, for example, an infiltration basin to which a total of 50,000 m³/TU is supplied. This total value is distributed over all the listed elements proportional to their respective areas.
