MAEK [m] (node wise),

MAXM [m] (node wise)

In a horizontal model thickness is defined as the thickness of the aquifer, and in a vertical model as the width of the cross-section through the aquifer. This data can be assigned to elements or nodes (unit: m).

A 'F' in column 15 means that the thickness of the specified elements or nodes is a fixed value. This means that when a horizontal model is being simulated, the thicknesses of these elements or nodes are fixed and can’t change, thus the aquifer is confined. The thickness can also be defined to vary with time for transient simulations. The calculation of the starting and maximum thickness is explained under the following section.
