Basics of the control lines

A flow pattern shows the direction from which water is flowing into a well, for example. With the help of control lines, additional statements can be made about the rates of water flowing in from a certain direction. The rate is calculated from the flow velocity and the corresponding area through which the water flows. The three-dimensional calculation provides depth-differentiated rates depending on the stratification.
