Density-dependent flow is only possible in vertical or 3D models!

In the density-dependent calculation, the density of the groundwater depends on the concentration of the dissolved substance:

To calculate a density-dependent flow, the density ρ must be taken into account in the flow and transport equation. The complete transport equation is as follows:

 

By including the density, the unit of the density-dependent mass transport equation becomes: [kg substance / (m³ solution *s)]
