Identification: ELEM [-]

With the help of ELEM, the triangular and quadrangular elements are defined by specifying the nodes which form the element. The elements can be numbered in any order. The nodes for each element have to be ordered anticlockwise. In the case of triangular elements, the fourth node is 0. Each line of the model file can contain two complete element definitions.

Within a line, either the 1st or the 2nd element definition can be deleted without completing the columns again. The element descriptions are the result of the mesh generator and stored automatically in the model file.
