Input parameters

The following input window appears:

Output

The name of the output file is defined.

Quantity per streamline

Since the streamline calculation is volume-based here is entered for what amount the streamline will be calculated. The entry is made in the unit [m³/year].

In the plot presentation flows the entered amount between two streamlines.

Porosity

The necessary porosity used to convert the filter velocity is provided (between 0 and 1). It applies uniformly to all elements. An analysis of the data type as porosity is currently not possible.

Analysis of the streamlines

The evaluation of the streamline calculation can be done either from the centre or at the margin of the elements. In general, the evaluation done from the centre provides the more pleasant, smoother streamlines.

Starting points

The streamline calculation can be performed either for all or for specific nodes. Single nodes are to be entered in a further input field which appears after unchecking the box "all nodes". It is also possible to define the nodes interactively by selecting them directly in the SPRING surface (activating "capture nodes").

The starting points must be nodes to which a withdrawal is assigned. If the streamline calculation is done globally, an appropriate number of lines is started at the mesh boundary, at line markers and in all withdrawal points that amount is at least equal to the current size of quantity.

The buttons at the top of the input window allow resetting the input parameters (), opening an existing batch file () or saving the current batch file under another name ().
